Blood is usually not a good sign.

After x-rays, CT scans, and various tests, it was decided I have yet another case of bronchitis. I tend to get rather aggressive bronchitis infections, but I cannot recall one that led to clotting blood in my throat.

Obviously, I’m not feeling energetic. After teaching and grading papers, there isn’t enough energy left to maintain blogging or a podcast schedule. I hope to feel better after various medications start to work.

My immune system seems hyper-vigilant, and that’s annoying. Every school year, I manage to get sick.

When people ask if I get sick more often than other people, I’m not sure how to answer. It seems a significant number of students start missing class in mid-October, with January and February being particularly bad months for medical absences. I don’t miss work, thankfully. I do ask that students with fevers or getting over anything visit the clinic on campus and skip class until they are well.

At least I tend to get sick on Friday and recover by Monday or Tuesday.

I will return to a schedule as I return to better health.

I wrote in my last blog post that teaching was taking a toll on my body.
