At this point, one finishes “just because” and for no other reason or purpose. After May, I hope — more than anything — to never set foot on campus again for any reason. I’ll even switch medical specialists if I can, to avoid being near campus. I literally feel sick when I’m near the university\u2026 I despise it that much.<\/p>\n
My four years at the University of Minnesota nearly destroyed me. Another difficult educational experience marked by intolerance for my differences.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m broken, flawed, deficient, inferior. That was made clear throughout this journey.<\/p>\n
No, I don\u2019t have a job offer, but is that surprising without a faculty mentor? I built no network of contacts. Even my original advisor didn\u2019t want me.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m difficult. Too literal. too rigid. Not social enough. I don\u2019t even smile enough for some faculty.<\/p>\n
I believed, I had to believe, that this would be a reset for us. I will fall victim to this hope again. That predictable cycle\u2026 I\u2019m Sisyphus.<\/p>\n
Please, let me be free in 16 days. Free of the university and free of my self delusions.<\/p>\n
