They are also better with humor, some differences of opinion, and guests.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>The Autistic Me<\/strong><\/em> podcasts will need to an audience to justify the time and any financial costs. <strong>Audiences don\u2019t want to listen to me drone on for ten minutes or more a week, trying to be interesting by myself<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Preparing to podcast, I don\u2019t seem to have a normal voice.\u00a0I am starting to come down with something, which I fear is more than a cold. However, the preparation will continue as I consider what the format of the first few podcasts should be and what I hope the podcasts might become.<\/p>\n<p>[<strong>NOTE: Feb 6, 2018: I ended up with influenza! As of March 2, my voice was still rough with a lingering cough.<\/strong>]<\/p>\n<p>Some of the aspects of a podcast upon which I am reflecting:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topics: Addressing topics about which people want to hear.<\/li>\n<li>Guests: Interviewing experts and people with interesting stories.<\/li>\n<li>Sponsors: Covering the costs of a dedicated server and software would be great.<\/li>\n<li>Platform: Selecting a platform that distributes and archives episodes.<\/li>\n<li>Schedule: Posting weekly is essential, and our schedules are booked solid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I have asked for topics for the blog and podcasts; I am asking yet again. What topics need to be addressed if the series is going to successfully attract subscribers? Let me know by posting to the Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Guest suggestions are useful. I don\u2019t network well and know people would rather hear experts and guests with more compelling stories than mine. What guests would you like to hear interviewed for a podcast on autism and related matters?<\/p>\n<p>Sponsors (and donors) may take time to secure. The podcast needs to prove it is viable before sponsors will step forward for the show, especially one on a topic like autism. Donors can support <em><strong>The Autistic Me<\/strong><\/em> by clicking the <a href=\"http:\/\/paypal.me\/poetcsw\">PayPal link<\/a> on this blog now.<\/p>\n<p>The platform choice seems easy: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libsyn.com\/\">Libsyn.com<\/a> has a proven record and works with all major podcast distribution channels, such as iTunes.<\/p>\n<p>My schedule has to include getting and remaining healthy enough to record one or more podcasts weekly. I can always work ahead when I\u2019m functioning well. That\u2019s my strategy for most projects: work ahead knowing I\u2019ll collapse later.<\/p>\n<p>Again, I request that you post comments and share ideas. I\u2019ll have the podcast launched as soon as possible.
