Books Cited and Suggested Resources

Our knowledge about writing comes from reading books. For the Tameri Guide for Writers, we consult books on the English language, grammar, and writing. There are always new books waiting to be discovered so we can improve this website. Sometimes books offer conflicting advice; we do favor some experts when evaluating different opinions.

Sources Used for Tameri.com

We update this list when adding citations to any page within the Tameri Guide for Writers. We have attempted to link titles and ISBNs to Amazon for visitors interested in buying these books. We own and cite some older editions of texts; updating every book we own with each new edition makes little sense. For most books, our Amazon links connect to the current version. For scholars and others interested, the ISBN links search for the edition we used while drafting content for the Tameri Guide.

Most books on creative writing leave much to be desired; they are often too simplistic and laden with clichés about the craft. We have mined these works for their best suggestions and added our ideas to the Tameri Guide for Writers. No text can match the value of reading and writing regularly.
