We created a website for our cats because cats are family.
We’ve made family decisions based on what is best for our cats, just as we make decisions based on what is best for our children. Susan and I moved into our second apartment to take in Fido from the Wyatt household; he was not getting along with the other pets.
Our daughters will grow up with cats who journeyed from Pennsylvania to Texas with us. The girls understand that when you adopt a pet, that pet becomes family and a shared responsibility.
We have fostered many kittens (and a few adult cats). Each of those was important, too. People neglect and sometimes abandon pets. Humans aren’t always humane.
Fido’s Legacy
Even though he’s no longer with us, Fido will always be the cat who changed our lives. Without him, we wouldn’t have realized how important it was to share our lives with (sometimes) lovable fur-balls.
They say cats own humans, and we’re inclined to agree.
We definitely cater to their desires, even when they beg for food or treats at 2 a.m. Someone told us, “Ignore the begging and they’ll stop after a few nights.” You try ignoring cats banging on doors and crying three or four consecutive nights. Eventually, you cave! That cats knew we’d cave, too.
At least cats don’t need to be walked. Watching people walk dogs in sub-zero temperatures, you realize cats are wonderful.
