Reset in Texas Almost Complete!

Last updated on November 26, 2023

We closed on the sell of our house in Pennsylvania this week, so now our Texas reset is focused on touching up our new home and completing tasks locally.

I have been sick (as has my wife) for the last two weeks. We’ve moved on from a basic cold to chest congestion. As is my annual routine, I’ve probably moved on towards the bronchitis stage. Coughing and wheezing is now part of walking and exercising. Yes, an episode of The Autistic Me Podcast is overdue. I really thought the two-week schedule would work with time to plan ahead.

Once my health is more stable — probably by this weekend — I hope to record a block of podcasts and simply upload them. I already have notes and plans for episodes on sleep challenges, coping with holidays, dietary issues, and technology. There are other topics on my list, too.

Something I have learned about being a diet-controlled diabetic: cough and chest congestion medications spike my blood sugar. Not a little, either! There are, I now know, diabetic-better (if not diabetic-perfect) medications without sugars. Medications have always left me feeling shaky, so I cannot claim to know when the diabetic aspect came into play. Nothing quite like a racing heart and dizziness to leave you worried about something much worse than a cold.

Texas is a much better location for our family than Pennsylvania was. I’m getting more exercise and we are spending a lot more time outside. The weather is nice and the small town in which we live is close to everything.

We have some minor home repairs and upgrades planned, such as painting rooms and hanging decor.

This post was mainly to let my readers know we’re okay and I am going to be back this weekend.

Thank you!
