Flu Season Hits Our House

Last updated on November 26, 2023

Flu season hit our house hard, with two sick little girls quickly joined by two sick adults. The girls were vaccinated, but the vaccine hasn’t been effective this season as many news stories report. From ten to 30 percent effective wasn’t great enough for our household. My wife and I were prescribed Tamiflu and that might have helped somewhat.

I’m now struggling with minor pneumonia, with chest x-rays showing that things aren’t as bad as they could be. Too often, I end up with bronchitis followed by pneumonia during the winter. Flu was a change of pace.

Sitting around coughing is the new family bonding activity.

Apologies for the lack of blog activity and the missed podcast launch plan. The flu won, but I’m going to bounce back and get things on track.
