Few Posts, Waiting to Share

Last updated on November 26, 2023

The Autistic Me has been silent for much of 2019 because so many things are happening (mainly good things) that I don’t believe are appropriate to share until those things are finalized.

We’ve been parents since October 2015. It became official this year, when the adoption of our daughters was finalized. There were many things that happened along this journey that don’t belong in a blog or podcast without the eventual consent of our daughters. General parenting issues seem appropriate to me, but not the particulars of our experiences.

I’m waiting for some career news and family news to resolve. Until we know certain milestones are reached, I don’t want to share what might not happen. When things are more firmly situated, I’ll be sharing as appropriate.

The foster-adopt process consumed so much time outside my already overloaded teaching schedule that I had to set aside my blogs and podcast for sanity. Trying to blog about “anything” when I was preoccupied wasn’t working well.

My mind doesn’t deal well with stress, and neither does my body. That’s not autism — that’s being human.

I want to discuss everything that might help other people, including why I was stressed and how I am (not) dealing with stress.

There’s little chance I’ll be able post regularly and confidently until late June or early July. Right now, I’m hopeful that I can then post one great news blog entry after another. That would be a nice change.
